Introducing Waitlist for Events

In the latest version of the app, we’ve added a waitlist feature for events. Now, in the admin panel, you can enable the waitlist when creating an event. The waitlist works such that if the event becomes fully booked, users will have the option to join the waitlist, and you can contact them if spots open up. The waitlist is also displayed if the registration deadline has passed, allowing you to accommodate more guests if you have the capacity.

Registration Button in the App

We’ve redesigned the event card in the app and removed the "View Event" button to make more room for a clearer and more informative registration button. Since events are presented on cards like many other areas in the app, we assume that users now understand they can tap the card for more information.

We’ve also introduced different statuses for the button to make it easier for users to understand the situation. Here are the statuses that can appear:

  • Register
  • Attending
  • Join the waitlist (if enabled in admin)
  • Registration opens (with date and time)
  • Event closed
  • Fully booked
  • On the waitlist (if enabled in admin)

User Feedback

We’re always focused on improving the user experience, so we’ve added information related to registration to reduce the number of inquiries to the club. Here are some of the new features:

  • Explanation of what it means to be on the waitlist
  • Registration confirmation with information about automatic calendar invitations, which often end up in junk or spam folders
  • Notification if the user is not a member or if the company has no available spots for the event
  • Information if registration has not yet opened

We’ve also received feedback requesting club-specific designs for what was previously perceived as “system messages.” As a result, we’ve updated the design of these messages.

Additionally, we’ve made it clearer how users can unregister from an event.

In this release, we’ve made several changes related to events that we hope will help clubs fill up their events. We’ve also created some demo events in the Never Offside app so you can see how the user journey looks when joining a waitlist and how the different statuses are displayed on the RSVP button.

🙇‍♂️ We look forward to hearing how these changes are received by all the clubs
