The organizing committee for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun 2027 is purchasing a digital ecosystem from the sports tech and platform provider Never Offside. Sweden and Falun will host the World Championships in ski jumping, Nordic combined, and cross-country skiing for the fifth time in 2027, following previous editions in 1954, 1974, 1993, and 2015. Preparations have long been underway, and already this November a Ski Jumping World Cup will take place, followed by a Continental Cup in Nordic combined and a Cross-Country World Cup in February 2026. The grand finale will be the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, held February 24âMarch 7, 2027.
The project includes a digital platform with a website and app for one of Swedenâs largest business networks within sports â Beyond Skiing â which has hundreds of participating companies, as well as the mobile event app that serves as the digital meeting place for everything visitors need related to the competitions and championships. The ecosystem will include tickets, event information, partner offers, competitions, and much more. The Beyond Skiing platform and partner network work began in August, and the event platform is planned for launch in December.
âThis is a milestone for us and a project built on trust. Our clients are primarily elite sports clubs, but we also collaborate with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and their product Folkets Lag, with extensive activations during the Ice Hockey World Championship last spring. By 2025, itâs only natural to meet your audience through mobile channelsâwherever they areâwith everything gathered in one place. Thatâs also what turns the digital arena into a major commercial opportunity for the Falun World Championships,â says Christer Haglund, CEO of Never Offside.
âFor us, it has been important not only to find a supplier but also a partner to join forces with. Never Offside brings nearly ten years of experience working with digital platforms and sports properties. Our goal is to elevate the entire audience journeyâbefore, during, and after the competitions. With the event app, we make it easier to handle tickets, find the right information at the right time, access offers, and feel supported and guided in the crowd. Visitors get a digital companion that follows them from planning and ticket purchase to on-site experiences and the trip home. At the same time, our business network now has a new digital platform in the form of a website and app, where partners can share insights, connect, and promote their products and services. This is an important step toward our ambition to create a more connected, innovative, and value-driven World Championship for everyone involved in the event,â says Patrik Blomquist, Commercial Director for the Falun 2027 World Championships.
